FUNCTION AND CONTROLS

The DG-Stomp top panel features a lot of buttons, knobs and switches very convenient for real-time parameters control and patches recall. The top panel structure has been designed to provide an easy, intuitive and quick operativity.

The first step in programming an original tone is to select an amplifier model. In the LEAD modes, the DG-Stomp provides aggressive and distorted sounds as well as vintage overdrive tones in the DRIVE or CRUNCH modes and clean sounds in the CLEAN modes. Once the gain and tone controls have been set, it is always possible to select another amp model in order to check the different circuits response in order to shape the final sound (for instance, switching from LEAD 2 to DRIVE 1). In the right picture, the LED display shows that the Patch 1 of the Bank 2 in the Group 4 has been selected.

Once the amplifier model has been selected, the knobs settings can be adjusted as if working with a traditional amplifier. Rotating the knobs, the display shows the edited parameters value (range 0.0-10.0). This feature is very useful when editing few parameters of a previously stored Patch. Sometimes, it is better to switch to the MANUAL mode, pressing the relevant button located on the right side of the display. Independently from the settings of the selected Patch, this button changes the sound according to the knobs current position.

The effects can be switched on by dedicated backlit buttons. All settings can be easily and immediately performed thru dedicated knobs. Only two knobs (SPEED and DEPTH) are available in the Modulation section. Nevertheless, four parameters can be set: the additional parameters, in fact, can be recalled holding down the effect button while turning the SPEED and DEPTH controls.

Pressing a foot switch (1-3) it is possible to select the corresponding Patch number 1-3 in the currently selected Group/Bank. An additional foot switch allows to alternatively control the TAP delay function and to assign the foot switches 1-3 to the Group/Bank select function. Moreover, if held down, the foot switch enables the guitar tuner and the "mute" function.
