MX-2424 OS
MX-2424 OS 1.10 / MX-2424 OS 1.53	- Support for capacity larger than 9 Gb on FAT32 (Win98 compatible) formatted hard drives. The Mac HFS format is yet supported. The two formats can be contained in the same Project. The Smart Copy function allows the automatic conversion from FAT32 to Mac HFS and vice versa. - Support for Broadcast WAV (BWF) format audio files (both at 16 and 24-bit word lengths) as well as for Mac SDII 16 / SDII 24 formats. During the conversion between HFS and FAT32 format audio files are automatically converted. - Creation of a folder called "TL_Imports" that is not affected during a disk cleanup. The files contained into this folder will not be deleted. - Support for Multi-Travan tape backup/restore. This software version must be used with ViewNet 1.15.
MX-2424 1.54	- Improved performance and reliability both for Ethernet communication through ViewNet and FAT32 format disks. - The Import at "Original Time" of a non-time-stamped audio file now works properly.
MX-2424 OS 2.0	- 96 kHz recording mode enabled. - Enhanced functions of Timecode generation and chasing. - Initialization of HFS+ format disks to use Macintosh formatted disks larger than 9 Gb.
MX-2424 OS 2.1	- The Remote interface can be used as RS-422 with protocol Sony P2. Four new menus have been added for the management of the relative parameters: 360, 361, 362 and 364. - Two new Frame Rates in "pull-down" mode are available: 23.976 and 24.975 fps.
MX-2424 OS 3.05	- Menu 280: Mix Mode. Up to 24 tracks can be recorded to a new Project while reading the 24 tracks of the current Project. - Automatic dithering. - New Autoloop, Autoplay and Autoload modes. - Menu 055: new sample rates (from 42294 to 100100 kHz). - Menu 522: Meter Clip Mode can be set to "Input Only or Input and Play. - 256 Mb RAM support. - Menu 570: Waveform Record. - Menu 211: new Auto Unload On/Off function. - Menu 035: MTC Full Mode. - Menu 364: P2 Chase Control. - New default names for the audio files. - Catch Up times for long recordings are now faster. - Maximum recording time on a HFS+ drive is now 12 h (24-bit / 96 kHz) or 24 h (24-bit / 48 kHz). - Maximum file lenght is now 12 Gb. - The Sony P2 protocol implementation has been enhanced.
MX-2424 OS 3.10	- New Timecode Chase functions: 021 Chase Sample Ref, 022 Chase Freewheel, 023 Chase Relock and 024 Relock Threshold. - A new Lock Error Display shows the MX-2424 deviation from the current LTC or MTC Timecode. - Menu 272: Memory Registers. The available locators number has been raised from 100 (00-99) to 255 (00-254). - Menu 523: Meter Clip Hold function. - The Undo function is limited to 50 levels for the MX-2424 units with 128 Mb RAM.

MX-View
MX-View 1.3 (requires MX-2424 OS 3.05)	- A new waveform database function allows pre-allocation of the required space on the Hard Disk (before using this function the Hard Disk must be formatted). - Realtime waveform scrolling. - Drag & Drop functions are now available also during recording/playback. - Fast Virtual Track selection. - Track level and mute automation. - Sample level. - A new sizeable floating meter can display the levels for the 24 tracks. - Markers can be named and managed in a convenient graphic way. - Support for 12 color-coded track groups. - Up to 6 MX-2424 units can be displayed on the same window. - Linear fades and crossfades. - Floating transport bar. - The Overview window can be opened as a floating one. - Window Sets can now b stored separately. - New "Update Software" function. - 640x480 video resolution is now supported. - Individual Samples can be transferred to/from the computer maintaining their original SMPTE time. - New "Machine Settings" menu.
MX-View 1.4 (requires MX-2424 OS 3.10)	- New Pencil tool for graphic waveform editing. - Automatic track numbers if more than one MX-2424 unit is connected. - Automatic file format selection. - Batch Download function. - Virtual Track flag on the current physical track. - Logaritmic fades and crossfades. - Multiple Copy and Paste operations are now supported. - Lock/Unlock Track function is now available separately for each track. - New "0 dB Centerline". - It is possible to enable/disable the editing functions independently for each connected MX-2424 unit.

ViewNet	(discontinued)
ViewNet 1.51 (Special Use)	The current ViewNet editing software version is 1.53. Anyway, there is a special 1.51 version that allows to transfer audio files from the MX-2424 to the computer and vice versa thru Ethernet. Due to problems of compatibility between the Java Runtime Environment and the wide range of computers available in the market, this software version could work not properly and, in any case, must be used with the MX-2424 1.53 Operating System version. In case of problems,Tascam suggests to switch to the ViewNet 1.53 Operating System version, that doesn't provide the audio files transfer through the Web.
