The VS-1880 recording section can play up to 16 tracks simultaneously.

As in the VS-1680 model, 12 faders are available in the Track Mixer section: the faders 1-6 directly control the tracks 1-6 while the other faders alternatively control the pairs of odd and even tracks from 7 to 18 pressing the [SHIFT] key.

Tracks 17-18 (MST TR labeled) are also available for mastering functions.

The red circles show the hardware difference between the VS-1880 and VS-1680 mixer section.

The VS-1880 mastering functions, yet available in the VS-1680 VExpanded version, have been optimized being controlled by a dedicated CD-RW MASTERING key.

A dedicated CD-RW button takes the place of the VARI PITCH button available on VS-1680. When using a VS-1880 this function is no more available from the control panel, but can be selected via Display.

Accordingly with the new CD-RW features, VS-1880 has been implemented with new control screens.

This screen includes the mastering, writing and data backup functions useful when an external mastering drive (optional) has been connected.

The Mastering Room screen allows to set the stereo master writing parameters for the CD burning.
