V-PRODUCER

The V-Producer software (up to now available only in Windows version) allows effective management of all VP-9000 functions from an external computer.

Up to six VP-9000 units can be connected simultaneously, allowing control over a total of 36 tracks of VariPhrase audio.

Since the communication between V-Producer and the VP-9000 is performed via MIDI cables, a multi-port interface is required to connect also an external MIDI keyboard.

The Sample List window displays a list of the samples loaded into the VP-9000 internal memory.

For each sample several data are displayed: sample number, name, category, encode type, number of channels (mono/stereo), key assign mode, playback mode, original tempo (expressed in bpm) and number of beats.

Selected samples can be auditioned by clicking the Preview button (bottom right) or by pressing the [SHIFT] key on the computer keyboard, while the sample list is refreshed by clicking the bottom left button.

Samples can then be dragged and organized into the main window, that acts like a mini-sequencer designed to take full advantage of the VP-9000 capabilities.

Six tracks for each connected VP-9000 unit are available, where samples can be added, moved, copied and freely resized without losing synchronization with each other and with the song global tempo.

The Locator window features the transport buttons, global tempo and pitch settings as well as the sync options.

V-Producer sequences can be synchronized to MIDI Clock or to MIDI Time Code, and can be exported in SMF (Standard MIDI File) format.

VariPhrase technology features can be fully exploited in the PhraseScope window, where all the available parameters (Pitch, Time, Formants and Groove) can be easily edited with simple mouse operation.

Thanks to the graphic interface it is possible to create effects that would be difficult to achieve on the VP-9000 itself.

The Mixer window allows to control level, pan, effect sends and output assignment of the six parts of each connected VP-9000 unit through a fast and intuitive interface.

From this window it is also possible to edit the settings of the three effect processors.

V-TRAINER

In addition to V-Producer the software package contains V-Trainer, a program that performs VariPhrase encoding, converting WAV or AIFF files into the VP-9000 proprietary format required to use realtime VariPhrase effects.

Once the original file has been loaded, it is possible to select the encode type (Solo, Backing or Ensemble), to set the number of beats (if the sample contains a rhythmic loop) and to edit the number and position of markers.

Encoded files can then be saved to a Zip disk and loaded into the VP-9000 internal memory.

A batch processing function is also available, allowing multiple files to be converted simultaneously.
