FUNCTIONS AND CONTROLS
The POD allows a very easy and intuitive sound creation.
Two selectors and eight knobs are available (they directly control the internal DSP).
This picture shows the Amp model selector.
As a rule of thumb, turning the knob clockwise, more powerful and distorted sounds can be obtained (make reference to POD specs).
Once the amp model has been selected, the knobs act as typical amplifier potentiometers.
This picture shows the detail of the tone knobs, but more controls are also available: DRIVE, CHANNEL VOLUME (the amplifier master volume), REVERB and EFFECT TWEAK. This one enables the direct control of the selected effect main parameters.
The POD LED display shows the Bank number and the letter of the selected memory.
Dedicated keys give access to the MANUAL (for a direct management), TUNER, MIDI, NOISE GATE, SAVE and TAP functions. The [TAP] key allows a real time control of the delay time as well as of the chorus, flanger, tremolo and rotary effects modulation time.
This picture shows the EFFECTS knob that selects the effect type.
The POD 2.0 software version allows an easy selection of the cabinet model using the same knob (holding down the [TAP] key simultaneously).

REAR PANEL
This picture shows the balanced/unbalanced TSR jack outputs.
The signal can be sent to amplifiers, mixers and recording systems. The switch located between the two outputs enables the A.I.R. function (Acoustically Integrated Recording), that simulates the interaction of amplifiers, cabinets, speakers, microphones and recording room.
The A.I.R. function can be switched off when the POD is used as guitar preamplifier.

On the left is visible the RJ-45 port for optional connection with external Line6 pedalboards.
Thanks to the provided RJ-45 port, the POD can be connected with the Line6 Floor Board.

This pedalboard is very useful for real time control during live performances.
The MIDI IN/OUT ports are located nearby the power switch and the power cable connector.
The POD can be MIDI connected to a computer (PC or Mac) in which the Emagic SoundDiver software has been installed. LINE6 supplies this software together with the unit (free of charge).

SOUND DIVER SOFTWARE
The SoundDiver software (supplied as a dedicated version) allows: - Internal parameters realtime editing - Library management - Computer data storage and Bulk Data Dump. An interesting feature provided by the POD is the Re-Amping function. It is possible to record a clean guitar sound on a recorder track and then to connect the POD on the return track during the mixdown procedure, in order to select in realtime the better amp and cabinet combination.
