DATA MANAGEMENT

The D-108 front panel provides a slot (usually covered by the control panel) able to receive a removable case (caddy) containing differently sized hard disk units.

The caddy can be easily inserted and removed. The feeling is like changing a removable cartridge.

The installation of the Hard Disk into the caddy is less easy and requires few minutes to open/close the removable case and to securely and appropriately connect the power supply and data transfer cables.

When the internal connections have been done, the caddy rear panel connector provides the communication (power supply and data transfer) with the D-108. A supplied key allows to lock the removable case.

The picture on the left shows the internal part of the caddy.

An E-IDE type Hard Disk must be installed.

The left cable provides the power supply, while the right cable allows the data transfer.

D-108 operating system (v. 1.10) allows to use hard disks with a recording capacity up to 30 Gb.

Installing a large capacity internal hard disk, the system becomes very compact and extremely powerful in terms of recording time, without any loss in operativity.

The SCSI-2 port, located on the rear panel, allows to connect external SCSI units (HD, MO, etc).

Using a DOS-formatted (via PC) Hard Disk, it is possible to import/export data as WAV files.

This feature is extremely useful, allowing data processing and sound file conversion thru any popular editing software (Windows or MacOS platform).

Both HD, E-IDE internal and SCSI external, can be simultaneously connected to the D-108. Anyway, switching on the D-108, the internal E-IDE HD is automatically selected.
