The supplied CD-ROM is a fundamental part of the QS7 package, including a lot of licensed, shareware and freeware software useful to expand the QS7 features when used in bundle with a computer.

The officially licensed software includes three important titles: Steinberg Cubasis (for MIDI song recording and arranging), M.O.T.U. Unisyn (for sound programming and Programs/Mix library management) and Alesis SoundBridge (for sample RAM programming).

What is really important is that this software is pre-payed by Alesis for the QS7 customers and that the licences acquired allows the owners to access to the upgrade policy benefits of the related manufacturers.

SoundBridge is able to collect different types of data to be loaded into one or more Flash RAM cards (up to 8Mb).

A special window allows the user to prepare a data block divided in Instruments (multisampling SampleCell compatible type), Samples (Keyboard and Drum type), Songs and Programs.

SoundBridge can manage sounds in AIFF, SDII, WAV and SampleCell format (also directly from SampleCell CD library). Once completed the list, the data are transferred from computer to the Flash RAM card (located inside the QS7 slot) through a serial cable or via MIDI.

The transfer time is slow (about 1 minute every 100K), but once finished the process, the Flash RAM will maintain the data for instant loading.

Unisyn is a professional Editor/Librarian designed by Mark Of the Unicorn ready to work with the Alesis QS7/QS8 thanks to the supplied editing modules.

Full programming is more easy and fast thanks to specific graphic parameters and the librarian features allows the user to select and archive easily his job.

Thanks to the QS7 serial port, the connection with a computer is possible also without the need of an external MIDI interface.

This is very useful when using Apple PowerBook or PC-compatible NoteBook that can be easily used like a QS7 "extension".

Cubasis is the MIDI recording entry level software for the Steinberg Cubase family technology.

Depite this fact, Cubasis is able to manage up to 64 MIDI tracks and offers a lot of notable facilities over the most common sequencer features, like a notation window that can be very useful for printing musical parts (including lyrics).

In addition to this, also a GM/GS editor is provided accordingly with the GM compatibility of the QS7.

Thanks to the QS7 serial port, the connection with a computer is possible also without the need of an external MIDI interface.

This is very useful when using Apple PowerBook or PC-compatible NoteBook that can be easily used like a QS7 "extension".
